Watercress extract

This extract is derived from Watercress in Brassicaceae family. Watercress is also known in the French
name, Cresson. It originates in Europe and grows in Americas, Asia, Oceania and many parts of the
world, especially by the waterside. Thus, the English name, Watercress. This mineral-and-vitamin-rich
herb is widely used for cooking. Watercress revitalizes the scalp, gives moisture and luster to the hair,
and is expected to well-condition scalp and hair.

Marshmallow root extract

It comes from the root of the perennial Marsh mallow (Athaea officinalis) in Malvaceae family, which
leaves are covered with soft fur and it is also called velvet althea. Long ago, the starch from its root was
used to make the snack, marshmallow. Thus, the plant is called Marsh mallow overseas. Marsh mallow
root contains much polysaccharides and is believed to have effects to keep the skin smooth, prevent
skin problems, and turn the hair smooth and manageable.

Arnica flower extract

This is extracted from the flowers of Arnica (Arnica unalascensis) in Asteraceae family. Of all the Arnica
variety, this extract is from the Montana species in Europe. The small yellow flower opens on a knee-
high stem with a distinct tart scent. Arnica flower extract is expected to smooth the skin, protect the
scalp from skin problems, maintain moisture in the hair, and support the scalp health.

Chimaphila umbellate leaf extract

It is obtained from the leaves of Chimaphila umbellate in Pyrolaceae family, which grows in Europe and
North America. Since, it has the plum-like flower as if an umbrella is opened downward, it was named
Umegasaso (plum umbrella plant) in Japanese. Chimaphila umbellate leaf keeps the scalp clean and is
said to be effective in maintaining the hair healthy and strong.

Okura extract

It is derived from Okura in Malvaceae family. Although Okura is originated in Africa, it is a familiar
summer vegetable in Japan. The impressive flower has pale yellow petals with the center in wine red,
which looks like small hibiscus. Okura contains the distinct slimy mucin. Mucin holds moisture well and is
attracting attention as a possible moisturizing beauty ingredient to keep the skin and scalp healthy.
Okura also contains a lot of minerals and is believed to impart moisture and shine to help the hair

Ginseng is also called Chinese ginseng or Korean ginseng and grows from Liaodong, China to Korean
Peninsula. It is a perennial in Araliaceae family and the root is harvested after several years of

excellent effectiveness, Ginseng has earned honor since ancient times. The Ginseng root extract is

Lamium album flower extract

This extract comes from the flower of Lamium album in Lamiaceae family. Lamium album grows in
clusters in the shade on the mountains of China, Korean Peninsula and Japan. The Japanese name,
Odorikoso (Dancer plant) came from the small flowers clustering around the stem which look like
dancers with hats lined up in a circle. Lamium album flower extract is effective in smoothing the skin and
preventing it from skin troubles. It is expected to keep the scalp smooth and healthy, imparting moisture
to the hair.

Chamomile flower extract

This extract comes from the flowers of German chamomile in Asteraceae family, which grows widely
from Europe to western Asia. It puts on white petals with yellow center with a fruity scent like the apple.
Chamomile flowers have been used as medicine in Europe since more than 4000 years ago. To this day,
it is used for herb tea, aroma therapy and other purposes. Chamomile flower extract protects skins from
troubles, which is expected to keep the scalp vital and nurture the hair.

Artemisia capillaris extract

This is extracted from Artemisia capillaris in Asteraceae family. It grows widely in Asia by the sea and
rivers, and is said to protect the scalp from skin troubles and reduce dandruff and itchiness. By
maintaining the scalp health, it is expected to keep the hair robust.

Gentian root extract

It is derived from the root of perennial plant Gentian in Gentianaceae family growing in Europe. Gentian
root contains a bitter property called secoiridoid glycoside. Gentian root extract is believed to
strengthen and moisturize the scalp and hair, maintaining the youthful look of the hair.

Burdock root extract

This is extracted from the root of Burdock in Asteraceae family. Burdock root is used as food in Japan
and Korea but used as medicine in China. Burdock root extract has invigorating and moisturizing effects

European redwood pinecone extract

This extract comes from the pinecones of Scots pine (or European redwood) in the pine family.
European redwood was historically used for Christmas tree in Europe and North America, but its natural
habitat is shrinking greatly due to harvesting and wild fire, etc. European redwood has a soothing scent,
often used for aroma therapy. The leaves have been used for pine needle liquor and tea since ancient
times. Scots pine’s pinecone extract has the effects to smooth out the texture and retain moisture.

This extract is derived from Hedera helix in the Araliaceae family. Hedera helix grows in Europe,

Japanese swertia extract

This is extracted from Swertia in the Gentianaceae family. It grows on mountain meadows in China,
Korean Peninsula, and Japan. In fall, Swertia puts on tiny fair flowers. It has been used for medicine in
Japan since ancient times. The name Swertia (Senburi in Japanese = thousand shakings) derived from
the strong bitterness that you cannot shake out after a thousand-time tries. Swertia extract is said to
strengthen and support the hair.

It is derived from the flowers of Roman chamomile in the Asteraceae family. Roman chamomile grows in
Europe and Northern America. German chamomile is the biennial (annual or over-winter plant) common
variety, but Roman chamomile is perennial used for herb tea and aroma therapy. Roman chamomile
flower extract is said to be effective in keeping the scalp clean and healthy and maintaining the lustrous
